Kid’s Church
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6–9
There is no substitute for parents diligently teaching their children the Word and modeling the Christian Life for their children. We at Calvary Chapel Flower Mound want to come alongside our families and provide a safe nurturing environment where we can supplement what you are teaching them at home. We take a two-pronged approach where we teach the kids the Bible, but we also try to supplement that by helping the kids learn to think Biblically about their world.
Sundays
In our Sunday lessons we go through the Calvary Chapel Curriculum which will take the children through the entire Bible in one year. We provide a spring board for parents to talk to their kids about the Scripture and to help their kids to apply what they learn on Sundays to their lives.
Wednesdays
Recently we have been teaching the kids the 7 C’s of creation because we want our children to develop a biblical world view. As we go through the 7 C’s, the children learn to see history in light of seven major Biblical events: creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. As the children go through this study they start to think more Biblically about the world they live in.
Benefits of Children’s Church for the Children
- Children learn to love God by knowing Him
- We give the children the opportunity to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior
- Children have the opportunity to ask questions about God and fellowship with other Christian children
Benefits of Children’s Church for our Teachers
- We have had children pray to accept Christ in children’s church. And now we have the privilege of watching them grow in their faith.
- As we prepare for the lessons we grow in knowledge of God and our own walk with God is stronger.
- We get the privilege of pouring into the lives of the Children that God has entrusted to us.
- We get to pray with and for them, in their times of trouble and in their triumphs.
